Ash & Oak occupies a category of one in the handmade candle market. Our story began in a New York kitchen during the pandemic while our founder, Brianna, was finishing her degree to become a Registered Dietitian. What started as a viral TikTok hobby quickly outgrew a home office and moved into its current home: a backyard garden shed studio.
The Spark of Innovation
We are the home of the patent-pending long woodwick. After searching for days and finding nothing like it on the market, Brianna decided to invent one herself to create a dramatically elongated flame and an audible crackling sound. This unique design creates all the fireplace feels, and our community frequently describes the experience as having a mini fireplace in the room.

As a dietitian, Brianna understands that what you breathe is just as important as what you eat. Most mass-market candles use paraffin wax—a petroleum byproduct—but Ash & Oak chooses health, sustainability, and transparency. We use only the most beneficial materials, including beeswax, soy wax, and essential oils, so you can enjoy a clean burn that is actually beneficial for your air
Truly Handmade Craftsmanship
Every Ash & Oak candle is a functional art piece hand-poured in New York. We pour cement into custom molds, then sand and paint each vessel by hand in our garden shed studio to ensure a unique, modern finish. Even our name reflects this rustic, artisan vibe: Ash represents the fireplace feel of our signature wick, and Oak honors the natural wooden bowls and elements used in our designs
